Ukrainians, LBGTQ+ friends, allies…we stand together. We’re the voice of the Ukrainian community in Leeds and this will be our first year at Leeds Pride. We’ve got a limited number of places left: if you want to walk with us, sign up through the link in @leeds.uca bio. LGBTQ+ Ukrainians are serving on the front line, but they don’t have the same rights as the others they fight alongside. The right to live openly and equally is still being fought for, even in the middle of a war. We need your help to make sure that the Ukrainian LGBT+ community stays visible worldwide. One day, may Ukraine be an inclusive country where everyone can be safe and free! We’re proud to collaborate with @ukraine.pride There’s no rainbow without yellow and blue 🏳️‍🌈 🇺🇦

With school year coming to an end soon, we would like to thank our ladies who have been volunteering and made thousands of meals for our school children and all of us! Thank you to - Olena Sulyk, Tetiana Sabada, Lubov Andrukhiv, Vira Bilyk, Valentyna Sakhno, Halyna Koval. This is just one of the groups of volunteers who cook, and we are truly greatfull to each and everyone of you who joins us and helps us to spread Ukrainian culture through the food, this also reminds us all of home! 🇺🇦❤️ ——- Більшість із вас, мабуть, уже куштували наші вареники по суботах, на наших заходах або благодійних ярмарках. INTERNATIONAL SPORT // 2026 While Ukraine is stil INTERNATIONAL SPORT // 2026 While Ukraine is still fighting for survival losing athletes, coaches, stadiums, homes global sport is quietly shifting back towards normalisation. Across multiple federations, restrictions on Russia and Belarus have been softened, weakened, or fully lifted. Some now allow so‑called neutral athletes. Some have gone further restoring flags, anthems, and national uniforms. This isn’t happening everywhere, and it isn’t happening at the same speed, but the direction is unmistakable. Meanwhile, Ukrainian athletes continue to train through air raids, displacement, destroyed facilities, and unimaginable loss yet still show up, still compete, still carry their country. Sport is never “just sport”, it reflects choices, values, and what the world decides to look away from. МІЖНАРОДНИЙ СПОРТ // 2026 Поки Україна продовжує боротися за своє виживання, втрачаючи спортсменів, тренерів, стадіони та домівки, світовий спорт тихо повертається до нормалізації. У багатьох міжнародних спортивних федераціях обмеження щодо Росії та Білорусі були пом’якшені, послаблені або повністю скасовані. Деякі вже допускають до змагань так званих «нейтральних» спортсменів. Інші пішли ще далі, повернувши прапори, гімни та національну форму. Це відбувається не всюди й не однаковими темпами, але загальний напрямок є цілком очевидним. Тим часом українські спортсмени продовжують тренуватися під звуки повітряних тривог, в умовах вимушеного переселення, зруйнованої спортивної інфраструктури та неймовірних втрат. Попри це вони виходять на старт, продовжують змагатися й гідно представляють свою країну. Спорт ніколи не був «просто спортом». Він відображає вибір, цінності та те, на що світ вирішує заплющити очі.
Yesterday, Luca had the honour of having a stall a Yesterday, Luca had the honour of having a stall at Leeds Armed Forces Day, and what an incredible day it was! 🇬🇧 A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, show their support, and help make the day so special. We are truly grateful for every conversation, every purchase, and every kind word. It was wonderful to be part of such an amazing community event celebrating our Armed Forces and bringing people together. Thank you, Leeds we can’t wait for next year! Вчора Лука мав честь представляти свій стенд на Leeds Armed Forces Day, і це був неймовірний день! 🇬🇧 Щиро дякуємо кожному, хто завітав до нас, поспілкувався, висловив свою підтримку та допоміг зробити цей день таким особливим. Ми безмежно вдячні за кожну розмову, кожну покупку та кожне добре слово. Було чудово стати частиною такого прекрасного громадського заходу, який вшановує наші Збройні сили та об’єднує людей. Russia continues to strike civilian homes, apartme Russia continues to strike civilian homes, apartment blocks, hospitals, schools and critical infrastructure across Ukraine, whilst claiming it does not target civilians. The evidence is there for the world to see: shattered homes, grieving families, and innocent lives lost. No amount of propaganda can erase the reality that Ukrainian civilians wake up every day to air raid sirens, missile attacks, and the fear of losing everything. Denying these attacks does not make them disappear. It only adds insult to tragedy. The world must continue to stand with Ukraine, support those defending their freedom, and refuse to let lies replace truth. Civilian lives are not military targets. Facts matter. Humanity matters. - this is our own footage. житлових будинках, багатоповерхівках, лікарнях, школах та об’єктах критичної інфраструктури по всій Україні, водночас стверджуючи, що не атакує цивільних. Але докази бачить увесь світ: зруйновані домівки, сім’ї, які оплакують своїх рідних, та безвинно втрачені життя. Жодна пропаганда не здатна стерти реальність, у якій українські цивільні щодня прокидаються від звуків сирен повітряної тривоги, ракетних ударів і страху втратити все. Заперечення цих атак не змушує їх зникнути. Воно лише поглиблює трагедію. Світ повинен і надалі підтримувати Україну, підтримувати тих, хто бореться за свою свободу, і не дозволяти брехні замінити правду. Життя мирних людей — це не військова ціль. Факти мають значення. Людяність має значення.

What a fantastic couple of days spent visiting Bod What a fantastic couple of days spent visiting Bodney and Wretham Camps, where we had the privilege of meeting Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and many other NATO soldiers taking part in the Interflex programme. The atmosphere was incredible, made even more special by a wonderful performance from the talented Ukrainian band featuring @ulialord and @roy.domiszewski , who filled the day with beautiful Ukrainian songs that brought everyone together. We were delighted to make sure there were plenty of treats, snacks, and drinks available for the soldiers to enjoy, and it was heartwarming to spend time with both familiar faces and new friends from Ukraine. Events like these are about much more than food and entertainment. Morale events are incredibly important for soldiers, providing a chance to relax, connect with others, enjoy a taste of home, and take a break from the pressures of military training and service. They help strengthen friendships, boost wellbeing, and remind those serving that they are valued, supported, and appreciated by the wider community. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable. These moments of friendship, support, and unity remind us of the strength of the international community standing together. Events like these remind us how important it is to preserve and spread the beauty of Ukrainian art and culture through every possible form poetry, song, embroidery, language, and community. Special thank you goes to @veronika__sirko for bringing her ideas and delivering it so wonderfully! And @leeds_ukrainian_club for always supporting LUCA in all possible ways! Our trustee @benbr111 has overlooked this event, it turned out to be magical experience full of love and laughter 🇺🇦✨ ——- Моменти з минулої суботи 💙💛 Дякуємо всім, хто приєднався до нашого святкування Дня Вишиванки, наповненого українською поезією, мовою та культурою. Було надзвичайно приємно бачити, як багато людей зібралися разом, щоб поділитися своїм талантом, традиціями та любов’ю до України. Happy Vyshyvanka Day from LUCA! 🇺🇦 Today, our vol Happy Vyshyvanka Day from LUCA! 🇺🇦 Today, our volunteers are wearing their vyshyvankas to mark 20 years of Vyshyvanka Day! The ‘vyshyvanka’ is a traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt. Patterns and colours have meanings, and vary by region. During russia’s full-scale invasion, wearing one has become a bigger act of pride and quiet resistance. Vyshyvanka Day began 20 years ago as a student initiative in Chernivtsi and has become a global celebration of Ukrainian identity and culture. At LUCA we deliver aid, support Ukrainian families in Yorkshire and stand alongside Ukrainian soldiers training in the UK. Thank you for supporting us in our mission. З Днем Вишиванки від LUCA! 🇺🇦 Сьогодні наші волонтери одягають свої вишиванки, щоб відзначити 20-річчя Дня Вишиванки! Вишиванка — це традиційна українська вишита сорочка. Візерунки та кольори мають значення та відрізняються залежно від регіону. У воєнний час носіння вишиванки стало актом гордості та тихого опору. День Вишиванки розпочався 20 років тому як студентська ініціатива в Чернівцях і став всесвітнім святкуванням української ідентичності та культури. У LUCA ми надаємо допомогу, підтримуємо українські сім’ї в Йоркширі та стоїмо пліч-о-пліч з українськими солдатами, які навчаються у Великій Британії. Donated disposable vapes are carefully dismantled, Donated disposable vapes are carefully dismantled, and the batteries are safely extracted and repurposed into portable power banks. Instead of ending up in landfill, these batteries are now being given a second life — providing power where it’s needed most. These power banks are used in Ukraine and support soldiers on the front lines, as well as civilians living in areas affected by electricity cuts, unstable connections, and damaged infrastructure. In remote locations especially, even a small source of power can make a huge difference — helping people stay connected, access information, and maintain a sense of safety. What you see here are some of the power banks we’ve built so far. Each one represents not just recycled materials, but resilience, innovation, and solidarity. Подаровані одноразові вейпи ретельно розбираються, а батареї безпечно вилучаються та переобладнуються у портативні павербанки. Замість того щоб опинитися на сміттєзвалищі, ці батареї отримують друге життя — забезпечуючи енергію там, де вона найбільш потрібна. Ці павербанки використовуються в Україні та підтримують військових на передовій, а також цивільних, які живуть у районах, що постраждали від відключень електроенергії, нестабільного зв’язку та пошкодженої інфраструктури. Особливо в віддалених місцевостях навіть невелике джерело енергії може мати велике значення — допомагаючи людям залишатися на зв’язку, отримувати інформацію та зберігати відчуття безпеки. Те, що ви бачите тут, — це частина павербанків, які ми вже виготовили. Кожен із них символізує не лише перероблені матеріали, а й стійкість, інновації та солідарність. #recycle #uk #charityprojects
