Humanitarian aid missions / deliveries is so much Humanitarian aid missions / deliveries is so much more than collecting and handing something over. Behind every delivery to Ukraine are weeks and often months of work by many people: finding and securing storage, collecting donations, inspecting and assessing items, washing and sanitising them, sorting, finding suitable packaging, completing paperwork, organising vehicles and drivers, planning routes, loading, transporting and finally handing the aid over to defenders, hospitals, charities and communities in Ukraine. From food, bedding, sleeping bags and mattresses to generators, medical supplies, vehicles, warm clothing and countless other essential items,every type of aid comes with its own logistics and challenges. A humanitarian convoy is never just one journey. It is a huge chain of people, time, work and logistics that happens long before the vehicles leave. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be showing more of what happens behind the scenes ,the work that often goes unseen, but makes every delivery possible. This is what humanitarian aid really looks like. 🇺🇦

The places where Ukraine’s defenders live, fight and protect. We have seen the destruction with our own eyes, and we have seen the incredible courage of those standing between it and everything they are protecting. Today, we honour them. For their courage. For their sacrifice. For everything they do to protect Ukraine and its people. It’s not only to celebrate, it’s to thank them too, so if you can do something to help them to do their job, choose to do that today, as a token of appreciation. Volunteer, share, donate! Support Ukraine and it’s incredible men and women who are protecting us all with their lives.

It was especially meaningful to see the Lithuanian and Ukrainian communities in Leeds united for the same cause, running side by side in solidarity, friendship and support for Ukraine. 🇱🇹🤝🇺🇦 The medals, featuring both the Lithuanian and Ukrainian flags, beautifully captured the meaning of the day two nations standing together for freedom. From all of us at Leeds Ukrainian Community Association Charity, thank you to the Lithuanian community for including us, for your friendship, and for standing with Ukraine. 💙💛 For your freedom and ours. ——- 🇱🇹🇺🇦 ЗА ВАШУ СВОБОДУ І НАШУ 🇺🇦🇱🇹 Цими вихідними литовці по всьому світу об’єдналися заради забігу “5 for Lithuania” цього року забіг був присвячений свободі України. A small item can make a huge difference: Yesterd A small item can make a huge difference: Yesterday, we received over 1,000 winter bedding items from the British military, ready to be transported to Ukraine and distributed to those who need them most from hospitals and vulnerable patients to the defenders on the frontline. Ukrainian winters can reach -30°C and below. When electricity, gas and heating are unavailable, staying warm can become a matter of survival especially for children, hospital patients and people already in vulnerable conditions. Yesterday, we added vacuum storage bags to our Amazon Wishlist, and @joshnutting and @yprotss immediately responded, purchasing two boxes. ❤️ Because of their generosity, we have now been able to pack 10 complete sets of a duvet, pillow and bedding into each vacuum bag. The difference is enormous. Vacuum packing: -Reduces the volume dramatically, meaning we can transport much more aid - Protects bedding from moisture - Keeps it clean and protected during transport - Makes loading, transporting and distributing the aid much easier Every item is also washed and sanitised before packing, so it arrives ready to be used by the people who need it most. This is what humanitarian aid looks like: one person helps, another responds, and together we get it where it is needed. 🇺🇦 If you’d like to help us with future deliveries, you can purchase much-needed items directly through our Amazon Wishlist. ❤️ Невелика річ може мати величезне значення: Вчора ми отримали понад 1 000 одиниць зимової постільної білизни від британських військових, готових до транспортування в Україну та передачі тим, хто найбільше її потребує — від лікарень і вразливих пацієнтів до захисників на передовій. Українські зими можуть бути надзвичайно холодними — температура може опускатися до -30°C і нижче. Коли немає електрики, газу чи опалення, збереження тепла може стати питанням виживання — особливо для дітей, пацієнтів лікарень та людей, які вже перебувають у вразливому становищі. In 2022, the city became one of the key battlegrounds in Kharkiv Oblast and was occupied by ruzzian forces for around six months before being liberated by Ukraine in September 2022. After liberation, investigators discovered a mass burial site containing hundreds of graves. The destruction is still visible everywhere. Civilian homes, apartment blocks, schools and infrastructure were devastated. Even Izium’s Central Hospital was heavily damaged during the fighting. Hospitals are still treating people. Civilians are rebuilding their lives. And Ukrainian soldiers continue to defend their country, often needing basic everyday items to survive and carry on. This is why we collect aid. Every box, every donation and every essential item we deliver can make a real difference to someone living through the consequences of this war. Izium is not just a place of destruction. It is a place of people who are still standing. We dropped off hundreds of items to the hospital there and continuing to collect items for the next mission. “Through their eyes” BRADFORD 2026 @beata_kurkul a “Through their eyes” BRADFORD 2026 @beata_kurkul art installation. Lithuanian-born Ukrainian artist and volunteer, born in Vilnius in 1979 and living in Ukraine since 2008. She is particularly known for her powerful artwork depicting Ukrainian border guards, soldiers and the reality of the war. Since Russia’s aggression began in 2014, she has combined her artistic work with support for Ukrainian defenders, regularly visiting military and frontline communities and creating exhibitions of her work, her art is displayed in museums and known internationally. Литовська за походженням українська художниця та волонтерка, яка народилася у Вільнюсі в 1979 році та живе в Україні з 2008 року. As you scroll through the slides, you can see real items from Ukraine surrounding the photo installations such as nets that are used above the roads for protection from drones, camouflage nets, real drone parts, uniforms, and stories who have been told by the people in the pictures. Over the week, our young footballers and coaches Over the week, our young footballers and coaches from Kharkiv experienced an incredibly busy programme of sport, learning, culture and friendship across Leeds, Yorkshire and Manchester. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped organising all activities! A special thank you to @teneta_ua - the only camouflage net weaving club in Leeds and a truly unique place where Ukrainians of all generations come together to support Ukraine by weaving nets and doing Ukrainian activities - @teneta_ua and the best Foodball Mafia lead @blimey202 Thank you for organising an unforgettable evening of friendship and reflective space for the team! 🏙 Leeds City Tour Thank you to Ben Hopwood @benh0pw00d for bringing the history and stories of Leeds to life during a wonderful guided walking tour. 🏰 Royal Armouries Museum @royalarmouriesmuseum Thank you to Cat Stiles and the museum team for an incredible day exploring history through interactive experiences, exhibitions and demonstrations. Among the exhibition’s special displays will be a collection of Lithuanian photographer M. Vaišnoras photographs from Ukrainian cities that, after everything they have endured, will never look the same again, captured with unique film camera. The exhibition will also feature art displays by @beata_kurkul , adding another personal and emotional perspective on the experience of war and its impact on people and places. Visitors will be able to explore incredible objects and unique displays brought directly from the frontlines of Ukraine, with special items connected to the stories and photographs. Selected items will also be available to purchase, allowing visitors to take home a meaningful piece of the exhibition while supporting humanitarian work for Ukraine. Did you know that before the war hiking and walkin Did you know that before the war hiking and walking through forest and natural areas were popular in Kharkiv. The surrounding landscape is largely steppe, so open woodland and forest paths were very liked by locals You didn’t have to leave the city to get into nature. Kharkiv was one of Ukraine’s greenest major cities. Large forest and park areas were woven into the city, giving residents plenty of places to walk, cycle, run and spend time outdoors. However due to the safety concerns, outdoor activities in groups are very restricted at the moment, it was wonderful to see the team and our volunteers enjoying the hike and Peak District views 🥹 norther England does reassemble Ukraine in some of the regions, and it was lovely to see everyone being able to do things they love in a safe and peaceful environment 🇺🇦🫶🏼🇬🇧
