KHARKIV- LEEDS DIARY DAY 5: Day full of unforgett KHARKIV- LEEDS DIARY DAY 5: Day full of unforgettable experiences! 🤩 Our morning started with an incredible visit to the @royalarmouriesmuseum , where the boys explored fascinating exhibitions, met horse riders, enjoyed interactive museum activities, discovered the story of Genghis Khan, and learned so much from the fantastic Royal Armouries’ guide Cat. A delicious lunch made the visit even more special. In the afternoon, we visited the Leeds branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, where @atarantul shared the history of the building and explained why Ukrainian community centres like this play such an important role in supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians. After that, our wonderful @teneta_ua volunteers, led by @blimey202 , organised a fun game of Football Mafia, followed by a delicious Ukrainian dinner with borscht and varenyky made by @sv_aleksasha, Nataliia, Olena. We finished the day at Castleford Stadium, enjoying an exciting rugby match between Castleford and Hull. The atmosphere has been amazing, and now we’re waiting to see who takes the win! 🏉💙💛 Thank you to our drivers @big_c_nomad Roman and John! And translator @band_rabura
KHARKIV - LEEDS DIARY DAY 4: Another brilliant day KHARKIV - LEEDS DIARY DAY 4: Another brilliant day full of football! We started the day with a visit to the National Football Museum in Manchester, where the boys explored the history of football, saw incredible trophies, and discovered how the beautiful game has evolved over the years. Next came an unforgettable training session at the Manchester Football Academy. The boys had the chance to learn from highly experienced coaches of Manchester City. That was a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills. Before heading home, we made one final stop at the Manchester City Store, where everyone enjoyed picking out souvenirs to remember the trip. After a busy and exciting day, we returned home for a well-deserved dinner, already looking forward to tomorrow’s adventures! Thank you to all incredible volunteers who have started their day early morning and haven’t even finished as they’re on the way back to Leeds! Managing and coordinating the day as per usual @veronika__sirko and @atarantul, driving and helping with the day @big_c_nomad @_ash_wilson @benbr111! As you can see our trustee @benbr111 challenged the boys for a race too! Huge help from @oleksandr_sakhno !

This is more than a celebration it’s an opportunity to stand with Ukraine and make a real difference. Every penny raised from this event will go directly towards funding the autonomous evacuation robot “Maul” for the CCO (Сили спеціальних операці) 3rd assault brigade, helping save the lives of wounded defenders on the front line. Your ticket includes a relaxed buffet-style evening with a selection of food, including sandwiches, fresh salads, snacks, and refreshments. If the weather is kind to us, we’ll make the most of the summer evening by celebrating outdoors. We will have Ukrainian quizzes and prizes for the winners! Together, we’ll honour Ukraine’s journey to independence while continuing to support those fighting to protect it today. Bring your family, friends, and anyone who wants to stand with Ukraine. Every ticket purchased helps provide life-saving support and shows that our community remains united in its commitment to freedom. Let’s celebrate. Let’s remember. KHARKIV-LEEDS DIARY DAY 3: Day full of unforgetta KHARKIV-LEEDS DIARY DAY 3: Day full of unforgettable memories! We started the day with a mesmerising match against Leeds United and our boys came away with an overwhelming 5:2 victory! They showed great teamwork, determination and spirit throughout the game. Special thank you to @brian_deane for the motivational and inspiring speech and advice before the match! After the match, we headed to the beautiful village of Otley, where we enjoyed a relaxing walk, tasted authentic homemade pizza and even experienced a bit of the famous changing local weather, which gave us an opportunity to enjoy some tea and coffee in a local cafe. To finish the day, we stopped by the Leeds United Store, where the boys had the chance to pick up souvenirs to remember this incredible trip and their victory. Thank you to the dedicated team who ensured that everything went smoothly! Project manager @veronika__sirko with help from @atarantul , drivers : @benbr111 @viacheslav.semeniuk and Roman, interpreters and and general help during a day @glebius_berg and @atarantul, thank you for amazing support from @leedsunited and everyone who have showed up to support! It was incredible to see Ukrainian flags, and hear Kharkiv name being shouted out throughout the game! 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇦 Thank you @natalie_wells_russell13 and @helen.mcgee.56863 for showing up, helping and participating in this project! ❤️
KHARKIV - LEEDS DAIRY DAY 2: The boys kicked off KHARKIV - LEEDS DAIRY DAY 2: The boys kicked off the day with an incredible training session at Leeds United. They absolutely loved it! A huge thank you to the coaches and everyone at @leedsunited for making them feel so welcome. Next, they explored the hidden side of @leedslibraries (Central Library and gallery), discovering its history, fascinating stories and even getting exclusive behind-the-scenes access to areas usually closed to the public. After dinner, it was time to have some fun at @pixelbarleeds, where the boys enjoyed an evening packed with Xbox, PlayStation and plenty of friendly competition. They had been waiting for it since Sunday! Thank you to our incredible team who volunteered toat th logistics, interpreting, organisation and driving @veronika__sirko @atarantul @glebius_berg @band_rabura @viacheslav.semeniuk @natalie_wells_russell13 ——— ХАРКІВ — ЛІДС. ДЕНЬ 2 🇺🇦🇬🇧 Хлопці розпочали день із неймовірного тренування в Leeds United. Вони були у захваті! Щиро дякуємо тренерам і всій команді @leedsunited за такий теплий прийом і незабутні враження. Далі на них чекало знайомство з прихованими куточками @leedslibraries (Центральної бібліотеки та художньої галереї), де вони відкрили для себе її історію, почули захопливі розповіді та навіть отримали ексклюзивний доступ до приміщень, які зазвичай закриті для відвідувачів. Після вечері настав час розваг у @pixelbarleeds, де хлопці провели чудовий вечір за Xbox, PlayStation та дружніми змаганнями. Вони чекали на цей момент ще з неділі! We had such a wonderful day celebrating together, creating memories, and proudly representing Ukraine and our Eastern European community. For us, being part of events like Leeds Pride is about so much more than simply marching. It is about integration, solidarity, and belonging. It is about becoming an active part of the communities we live in, supporting one another, and standing alongside movements that fight for equality, dignity, freedom, and human rights for everyone. We are incredibly proud to show that Ukraine is a European country open, diverse, welcoming, and united by the same values of freedom and equality. By coming together and taking part in important community events like Pride, we have the opportunity to build bridges, challenge stereotypes, and show the world the Ukraine we know and love. A huge thank you to Leeds for once again welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to be part of such an important celebration. We were honoured to march on our float in collaboration with Ukraine Pride, proudly representing and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community in Ukraine. At a time when equality, dignity, and human rights continue to be fought for, standing together in solidarity means more than ever. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on the float, to all the spectators who cheered us on and waved Ukrainian and Pride flags, and to everyone who stopped to show their support along the route. A special thank you to @alexsobelmp for showing up and supporting us, as always, and to every volunteer and supporter who helped make this day possible. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you @kimstergram_ @veronika__sirko so much for putting this together and advocating for the cause so well! This is just a small glimpse of the fun, love, and unity we shared together. Ukrainians, LBGTQ+ friends, allies…we stand together. We’re the voice of the Ukrainian community in Leeds and this will be our first year at Leeds Pride. We’ve got a limited number of places left: if you want to walk with us, sign up through the link in @leeds.uca bio. LGBTQ+ Ukrainians are serving on the front line, but they don’t have the same rights as the others they fight alongside. The right to live openly and equally is still being fought for, even in the middle of a war. We need your help to make sure that the Ukrainian LGBT+ community stays visible worldwide. Most of you have probably tried our Verenyky on Sa Most of you have probably tried our Verenyky on Saturdays, at our events, or stalls. With school year coming to an end soon, we would like to thank our ladies who have been volunteering and made thousands of meals for our school children and all of us! Thank you to - Olena Sulyk, Tetiana Sabada, Lubov Andrukhiv, Vira Bilyk, Valentyna Sakhno, Halyna Koval. This is just one of the groups of volunteers who cook, and we are truly greatfull to each and everyone of you who joins us and helps us to spread Ukrainian culture through the food, this also reminds us all of home! 🇺🇦❤️ ——- Більшість із вас, мабуть, уже куштували наші вареники по суботах, на наших заходах або благодійних ярмарках. Оскільки навчальний рік незабаром добігає кінця, ми хочемо щиро подякувати нашим чудовим жінкам-волонтеркам, які присвятили свій час і приготували тисячі порцій для учнів нашої школи та для всіх нас! INTERNATIONAL SPORT // 2026 While Ukraine is stil INTERNATIONAL SPORT // 2026 While Ukraine is still fighting for survival losing athletes, coaches, stadiums, homes global sport is quietly shifting back towards normalisation. Across multiple federations, restrictions on Russia and Belarus have been softened, weakened, or fully lifted. Some now allow so‑called neutral athletes. Some have gone further restoring flags, anthems, and national uniforms. This isn’t happening everywhere, and it isn’t happening at the same speed, but the direction is unmistakable. Meanwhile, Ukrainian athletes continue to train through air raids, displacement, destroyed facilities, and unimaginable loss yet still show up, still compete, still carry their country. Sport is never “just sport”, it reflects choices, values, and what the world decides to look away from. МІЖНАРОДНИЙ СПОРТ // 2026 Поки Україна продовжує боротися за своє виживання, втрачаючи спортсменів, тренерів, стадіони та домівки, світовий спорт тихо повертається до нормалізації. У багатьох міжнародних спортивних федераціях обмеження щодо Росії та Білорусі були пом’якшені, послаблені або повністю скасовані. Деякі вже допускають до змагань так званих «нейтральних» спортсменів. Інші пішли ще далі, повернувши прапори, гімни та національну форму. Це відбувається не всюди й не однаковими темпами, але загальний напрямок є цілком очевидним. Тим часом українські спортсмени продовжують тренуватися під звуки повітряних тривог, в умовах вимушеного переселення, зруйнованої спортивної інфраструктури та неймовірних втрат. Попри це вони виходять на старт, продовжують змагатися й гідно представляють свою країну. Спорт ніколи не був «просто спортом». Він відображає вибір, цінності та те, на що світ вирішує заплющити очі.

We are truly grateful for every conversation, every purchase, and every kind word. It was wonderful to be part of such an amazing community event celebrating our Armed Forces and bringing people together. Thank you, Leeds we can’t wait for next year! Вчора Лука мав честь представляти свій стенд на Leeds Armed Forces Day, і це був неймовірний день! 🇬🇧 Щиро дякуємо кожному, хто завітав до нас, поспілкувався, висловив свою підтримку та допоміг зробити цей день таким особливим. Ми безмежно вдячні за кожну розмову, кожну покупку та кожне добре слово. Було чудово стати частиною такого прекрасного громадського заходу, який вшановує наші Збройні сили та об’єднує людей. Russia continues to strike civilian homes, apartme Russia continues to strike civilian homes, apartment blocks, hospitals, schools and critical infrastructure across Ukraine, whilst claiming it does not target civilians. The evidence is there for the world to see: shattered homes, grieving families, and innocent lives lost. No amount of propaganda can erase the reality that Ukrainian civilians wake up every day to air raid sirens, missile attacks, and the fear of losing everything. Denying these attacks does not make them disappear. It only adds insult to tragedy. The world must continue to stand with Ukraine, support those defending their freedom, and refuse to let lies replace truth. Civilian lives are not military targets. Facts matter. Humanity matters. - this is our own footage. житлових будинках, багатоповерхівках, лікарнях, школах та об’єктах критичної інфраструктури по всій Україні, водночас стверджуючи, що не атакує цивільних. Але докази бачить увесь світ: зруйновані домівки, сім’ї, які оплакують своїх рідних, та безвинно втрачені життя. Жодна пропаганда не здатна стерти реальність, у якій українські цивільні щодня прокидаються від звуків сирен повітряної тривоги, ракетних ударів і страху втратити все. Заперечення цих атак не змушує їх зникнути. Воно лише поглиблює трагедію. Світ повинен і надалі підтримувати Україну, підтримувати тих, хто бореться за свою свободу, і не дозволяти брехні замінити правду. Життя мирних людей — це не військова ціль. Факти мають значення. Людяність має значення.
